I thought to myself, "they PAY me to make little pictures?" Cool.

 

Dorothy Shaw grew up in Texas, traveled the world a bit and settled in Oklahoma City, OK. And it is OK, in the best way. She spent decades in advertising and design; now she gets to spend time illustrating, painting and sculpting.  

Her world is still about visual communication. When you hear music, can the sounds crash before you like waves? When you see a lawn being mowed do you smell grass? If you climb a tree, can you feel weightless in the wind and the leaves and the sky? What shapes are your memories? What colors are your experiences?
